What is Yogalicious Toronto©?
It is an idea to harmonize lifestyles. Yogalicious Toronto is a recognized opportunity, conceived and created by a local community based organization. This event brings together restaurant owners, yoga Instructors, delicious and healthy food along with social consciousness, as an annually occurring phenomenon. It happens under the roof of local restaurants in Toronto that have embraced traditional farm-to-table practices while offering delicious cuisine to Torontonians and visitors.
Timed between Summerlicious and Winterlicious food festivals, once a year during the fall, people in Toronto now get to experience Yogalicious while practicing yoga and eating locally-sourced food with a limited time only menu artfully created exclusively for this event in a communal dining format. The idea is to provide brunch yoga packaged specially for food and yoga connoisseurs. The list of participating restaurants and participating yoga instructors will expand in the following years. It is also an opportunity for yoga instructors from different lineages to provide classes in a non-traditional studio. All our previous years alumni can vouch for the community building that emerges through this yoga and food synchronicity. People are able to build new friends, new connections – all of this while contributing to a meaningful cause.
This fall, between November and early December, 2018, limited spots are available for yoga and brunch each week at a cozy authentic Mexican Restaurant in Liberty Village called Maizal Toronto. This year’s main instructor is Vikram Sainadh—a Yoga Alliance, Sivananda Certified Yoga Instructor—who will teach classical Hatha. It will be an open class suited for all levels while staying true to traditional yoga.
